We praise God for the safety of all the workers in the building, and ask for their continued protection. Thus far, there has not been a single injury. Given the complexity of the job and the amount of debris, this seems miraculous.
Breakthrough!
This week (the first week of February 2009), the contractor decided it was time to create the first-floor and basement hallways connecting the two buildings. Because this could not be undertaken until the structure was sufficiently stabilized, this marked a tremendously important step in the rehab/construction process.

Note: Now that Joshua Plaza is under construction, the two buildings that are being merged have also been officially merged into a single address. According to the New York City Dept. of Buildings, Joshua Plaza is located at 2524 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. (For convenience in identifying areas under construction, this blog is likely to continue to refer to street numbers 2526 and 2524 for the time being.)
